For further chances of watching the Aurora, it is ideal to stay as close to the borders Arctic Circle as possible. Checking the weather forecast beforehand for rain/snow is essential when planning to check on the southeast coast of Iceland.

2. Fairbanks, Alaska, United States

The city of Fairbanks is the second best place to opt for, and unlike places, it is blessed with hot springs. Two main concerns may be exhaustion and cold weather while Aurora viewing, but in Fairbanks, those can easily be subsided by hot springs. The city of Fairbanks is also a home to Geophysical Institute, which issues forecasts on weather and conditions to watch the Aurora.

3. Paatsjoki, Finnish Lapland

On the Finnish-Russian border, the bridge of Paatsjoki is the beyond compare when it comes to watching an Aurora. With a success chance of 90%, no one can miss the beautiful northern lights.

4. Unstad, Lofoten, Norway

With hot tub, food stand and sauna facilities Lofoten Masters is not a bad place to be for Aurora sightseeing and surfing competition

5. Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

Scotland making the top of the list as the most beautiful country is also a major attraction for aurora hunters. Caimgorms National Park's vast dark sky and no pollution provide an ideal spot to watch the northern lights with a hot cup of tea. Located in Scottish highlands, Caimgorms National Park is the largest national park in Britain.

6. Kangerlussuaq, Greenland

Greenland is on the top list of people looking for Aurora with 300 days of the clear sky every year. October to April is the peak time for most of the Aurora hunters to go on Northern Lights tour which includes three days of the Dog-sledding expedition in February to April.

7. Yellowknife, Canada

The city of Yellowknife with the temperature below 40 C provides an excellent chance to watch the Aurora. Even though you can view it throughout the city, but a 25-minute drive to Aurora Village offers a better view with guides and special heated viewing chairs specially made for northern light lovers.

8. Tromsø, Norway

City of Tromsø is also known as “Paris of North” for its beauty, arctic history, and rich culture. Its accessible locality to watch northern lights makes it even more attractive to foreigners and locals. Another option to watch the lights is village of Ersfjorden that is located forty minutes from Tromsø.

9. Abisko, Sweden

A small village in Sweden that is located north of Arctic Circle. While you are roaming around in National Abisko Park or in Kiruna mountains to see green northern lights dance on your head is something very usual. 10. Muonio, Finnish Lapland

The locality of Muonio village falls in Lapland. The village itself doesn't provide much of touristic outlook, but its grasslands and savannas provide spots worth exploring. A few minutes away from Muonio, The Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park, also known as a pretty good skiing and trekking place can be a good source of amusement.
